Meet Ivan Sutherland
Ivan Sutherland is regarded as the "Father of Computing Graphics". He has contributed a number of incredible advances in how we interact with computers.
In 1988, Sutherland was awarded the Alan Turing Award (see our post on Alan Turing!) for his invention: Sketchpad.
Sketchpad was one of the first "touch screen" computers, made in 1963!!! Sutherland wrote the software to recognize input from a "pen" and detect wha the user was drawing and correct the drawing appropriately.
You might have seen Google's AutoDraw program that just came out this year:
Sutherland's work can be seen in work all around us, tag us on social media with your favorite interactive computer!
